This is a shoot that I did for FDLuxe.  It is of this amazing new restaurant called Carbones.  

Wall Street Journal - Trucks

I shot a story for The Wall Street Journal recently about Luxury Pickup Trucks.  It was about how they are now the new norm in the Southwest.  These luxury trucks valued between $50,000 - 60,000 are what all the ranchers are driving.  They have all the power to haul huge trailers, but also the comfort for a family of five.

Modern Luxury Cover

I was fortunate this month to get the cover of the Modern Luxury April issue.  Colin Duchin was so cool.  I talked to him for about an hour before we even got started shooting.  Man has he got some stories.  We had so much fun.

So to get this second shot (Colin with dog), I was leaning over the side of a pool to get lined up the way I wanted.  I just couldn't get over far enough, so Colin said "Hang on, I'll be right back" and quickly returned with a ladder that he proceeded to throw into the pool for me to stand on.   I was a little nervous getting on this thing with my camera and dry clothes of course, but I wasn't going to let anyone else know.

New DMA Director

This is from a shoot that I did for Papercity that is out now.  Its a portrait of Max and Jacqueline Anderson, he being the new director of The Dallas Museum of Arts.  They were both beautiful and extremely easy to work with.  We had a great time.  I wanted to keep the shot pretty simple and have the focus on them, but also show some of the architecture of the DMA.

Mason Bar

I had the opportunity to shoot the gentlemen that are heading up Mason Bar. It's a new bar in Dallas that converted an old Masonic Lodge into a super cool neighborhood bar. They serve great beers out of Mason jars and amazing food. Gotta check out the cheesy grits.

The Lighthouse

Here is a shot of Kevin Moriarty and Jonathan Pell that I captured for Dallas Modern Luxury, for this months issue.  The story was about both men coming together to create the opera The Lighthouse.  The day of the shoot, it was suppose to be raining, which I was excited about.  It would have really played into the whole "lighthouse" feel.  It ended up just being cloudy and overcast which was fine.  I shot them on the looking fountain across the street of the Wyly (the place the opera would take place).  I wanted the idea of a dark image with them being real bright. I liked the idea of them being a "lighthouse", with water and darkness all around them.  I'm real pleased with how it came out.
