Ross Perot

I had the honor of shooting a video project of Ross Perot a few weeks ago.  It was such a interesting experience.  He really was so nice to the whole crew.  You never really know what to expect going into a project with a "celebrity" type.  I have to say though, it was a very nice experience.  The only thing I would have changed would have been getting Mr. Perot to go through the 6 pages of lines more than once.  Yes, he did one take and was done.  We did talk him into doing a second take on page 4... but it was because he sneezed.  Hahaha.

His office was seriously like a museum.  He had so much art and history surrounding him and throughout the hallways, it was amazing.  The day we went and scouted the location, Mr. Perot's secretary was a tour guide for us through three gigantic hallways of American history.  It took about 2 hours, but was well worth it.  She told us about all of the POW rescues that Mr. Perot were apart of, how Mr. Perot bought all of Russia's space equipment, because they needed the money and didn't appreciate their own history, showed us Bin Laden's cane that the special opts. gave him, Norman Rockwalls original paintings... on and on.  It was such a great experience.

Home in the Field

I had the pleasure of driving out to shoot this amazing artists studio in the middle of a field.  Kyle Farley is an extremely talented artist and a cool fellow.  I shot his place for a few hours, then slowed down and had a couple of cold ones with him.  It was such a fun shoot, with great company.

Dallas Stars Covers

I recently stopped by the Dallas Stars headquarters to pick up the Game Day Magazines that I shot the covers for.  I like the design and the usage of the images that I shot for them.  I also shot the story about coach Gulutzan inside.

The athletes were great to work with, very easy going.  I had a blast doing it.  It was pretty sweet going in their locker room, work out area, and the coaches office too.  Don't tell anyone, but I stole one of there jerseys...kidding.

The actual shooting was pretty fast and furious.  I had about 5 minutes with each guy, and I needed to pull off two backgrounds and different lighting scenarios with each of them.  I would have loved to have had more time with each of them, but I'm really happy with how everything turned out.

Shepard Fairey Results

I have been so pumped with how well our Shepard Fairey video has been doing out there.  We've had 193,000 page loads in the last two weeks from over 50 different websites and blogs that have posted it. Shepard Fairey's  project manager contacted me and said that he thought the video was "Awesome!" and they posted it on his site.  I couldn't have done it with out Dustin Bailey (producer, motion f/x) and Matt Brundige (editor).  Here are a few of the websites and blogs that I am extremely proud to be apart of:

Shepard Fairey Video

I was fortunate to work with The Dallas Contemporary and Shepard Fairey on this video project recently.  Shepard came to town and did 5 Murals in West Dallas.  I wanted to shoot this video in a "day in the life of..." style.  I wanted to show him prepping, painting and then partying.  That night he would be the DJ at a big party at the Dallas Contemporary.  After shooting, I worked with Matt Brundige who edited and Dustin Bailey who did all of the Motion Graphics (both from www.bfmcreative.com).  An amazing team to work with.  We wanted the motion graphics not to be overwhelming, just something that adds an interesting and intriguing element to the story.  Dustin did an amazing job at that.  I'm really thrilled to have worked with such great talent all the way around on this project.

I Killed My BFF

I got a call from an A & E producer asking if I would like to take stills for a TV show pilot called "I Killed My BFF".  I asked if she was asking me to take "behind the scenes" shots of the production.  She said, "No, I want you to shoot the stills, that will make up about 40% of the TV show."  It was a story about two best friends that grew up together and through strange circumstances one kills the other.  So, I would be shooting stills that describe the school that they grew up in, the places they went to, the courthouse that one was convicted in.  The finished product would be a combination of video and my photographs.  The series played on A & E a couple of weeks ago, but you can go to www.biography.com/tv/i-killed-my-bff  to see the episodes.  My episode was called "West Texas BFF's".
