Death Row story

The Wonderful Machine Blog did a story on my Death Row shoot. There were a lot of interesting parts of that shoot, so they asked me to tell the whole story. It is a little dramatic at times, but turned out real well I thought.
I get asked a lot about my experience photographing the two guys on Death Row and how I felt about the whole thing. Well, here it is.

Go here to read the whole story:

Highland Park Village

I shot an 18 image spread for the FD Luxe issue that is out now. It was great working with them again. Christopher Wynn (editor on the shoot) is a rockstar. He was really easy to work with and fun just hanging out with all day. We shot 4 set up portraits and countless interiors and exteriors of the shops and theatre. I really enjoy editorial shoots that are more than an image or two. I love being able to take a place or story, and showing all the aspects of it through lots of images.

Here are a few images that didn't make the cut, but I still enjoy.

Just plain cool

Really cool video created by Christian Sorensen Hansen. Great idea, great filming, great location, great music... just plain cool. Watch and be inspired.

The French Cowboy

Here is a portrait I shot of Evan Jayne. He is a bronc bareback rider here in Texas, after moving from France. He was one of the toughest guys (having multiple broken bones, including 4 in just his face after a wild horse kicked it), but was one of the nicest and polite men I've met.
Here is the photo they ran of him.

This was my favorite shot of the afternoon though.
